ONLINE FORUMS

Our online forums are very active and of great benefit to our members. SMMC hosts online forums that can be accessed through the member resource section of our website. These forums allow all of our members to connect in a private SMMC-only online user community. In this forum, SMMC members can ask questions, seek advice and offer support on all aspects of parenting and raising a family in Marin. The forums can be accessed online or through our mobile app HERE .

Please note that following our transition from Big Tent to Club Express, the old Big Tent archives can be accessed outside of the forum. You can find the old archives in member resources, documents, Archived Forum.

GENERAL FORUM

The general forum is an excellent place for questions, recommendations and advice. With tons of posts per day. It’s full of valuable information and near-instant advice. The archives are searchable, giving you access to years of posts.

CHILDCARE FORUM

The Childcare forum is the go-to resource for anyone seeking a nanny, daycare center or babysitter. Parents recommend available childcare providers, discuss the going rate and benefits, and connect on setting up sharecare situations.

CLASSIFIEDS FORUM

The Classifieds forum is full of high-quality items for sale, ranging from baby blankets to ski gear to furniture. Members can also post items they wish to buy. The Classifieds often have excellent items posted for free, so make sure to check back often!

COMMUNITY OUTREACH

SMMC provides members an opportunity to support our local community and give back to others in need. Just a few of our programs include:

KIDS HELPING KIDS

KHK provides opportunities for SMMC parents to teach their kids about charitable giving, our larger community, and social responsibility. KHK hosts community service projects throughout the year, creates the annual SMMC Holiday Giving Guide, and provides simple ideas on how to incorporate giving in their kids’ day-to-day lives.

DONATIONS

SMMC organizes donation drives throughout the year, and in 2017 was able to donate over $2500 to various local charities. In past years, we’ve partnered with outstanding organizations including: Marin Food Bank, Ritter Center, CASA, Drawbridge, Oma Village, My New Red Shoes, Companeras, Marin Community Clinic, Head Start of Marin, Family and Children’s Law Center, Image for Success, Marin Charitable and Project Night Night, and Marin Foster Care Association. MEALS FOR MOMS

Meals for Moms is a SMMC service that coordinates a meal delivery for members who have new babies, are on bed rest, dealing with a prolonged illness, recuperating from surgery or otherwise in need of a helping hand. BIRTH ANNOUNCEMENTS

SMMC celebrates every new arrival with an announcement in our magazine, The SMMC Crier. To place your baby’s birth announcement in the SMMC Crier, please email us at engagement@southernmarinmoms.com with your baby’s name, birth date, parents’ and siblings’ names and a photo.
